Sable Pantera: Chris Heavenfield [Solo]

A new day starts. Its already been a year when Chris first set foot on the doors of the famous guild of mercenaries known as the Sable Pantera. It was a new start of his life after he started to travel to east. To the land which was said to house most talented men in various form of skills. It’s the main reason why he ended up in Fiore. Fate did brought him. His desire to become stronger and more powerful than he is the previous day of his life is what fuels him and motivates him. In the course of being one of the Panteras, there’s no time he missed or forget his goals in which put him on a very strong shape. A strong stature that he is now. But there’s still more things to come and he knows it. Its always been inside his mind.

Early in the morning, Chris woke up. Like what he always do, he’s going to shape himself up. Every morning, he runs. He raised up from the bed and the first sound to be heard aside from his strong breath and the long yawn that doesn’t really make any sound were the sound of his bones. The cracking sound of the bones from his hands, to the neck then down to the spine and foot. It’s a pleasant sound to hear and not long after, he started to warm up. First thing he do after he raised from the bed? Push ups. He immediately took a step forward then let his body fall to the floor but with both of his arms and hands wide open. He started to count.

Chris’ morning regime includes a quick set of push ups then sit ups both counting to a couple of hundred each. Its just for the warm up. “…Eighty seven. Eighty eight. Eighty nine!” He did not stop until he reached the one hundred mark and at that point he switched his hand position. As he push himself up, his fist closes and his arms get closer to his body. Knuckle push ups. Another set of hundred is what Chris aims. His arms get bulker as the count goes on with veins on his arms and neck starting to become visible from his thick muscles. There’s no interval and no rest. Just continuous pumping up until he stopped. He flipped around afterwards as he leaned his toes to the wall and starts doing sit up and crunches. His breathing starts to get heavier but its no special since for the past months, its been the same regime. It took him just 10 minutes to complete his warm up and into the closet he head next. He grabbed a sweater, pair of rubber shoes and a large water jag. He went outside to run.

On the streets of Falcon City, Chris runs for about half an hour. He had circled around their large guild house back and forth while stretching himself in between rest. Its always been dawn when he run as there’s less people around and the atmosphere is just about right for his body. All sweat. His muscle bulks back and forth and as he warms them up even more. He does not have prior missions or work to do for the day so he was taking time into shaping himself up. Conditioning for the long day to come.

“Boxer? Is that the name of this buddy of yours, huh, Chris?” Barry, another of Chris’ close friend in Sable Pantera appears beside the bag of sand as he gave out a joke to what he had just heard. Chris did not notice that he was punching the bag that hard until the presence of his two guildmates. It’s a good thing and that he does not have to worry about the bag of sand as he saw Barry catching it halfway through before it got sent away with the last punch of him. “Oh poor Boxers… getting pummeled again. Wait. Is this Boxer the 5th or Boxer the 6th? I can’t remember how many of them you have already sent flying across the room!” Chris just shook his head with that friendly mockery by Barry. They know each other for quite a while, too.

“What is it Barry? Looks like she got dumped… ” Chris starts to unwrap the hand piece on both of his hands as they both give a soft chuckle to that tiny joke of his. He's talking about the different atmosphere around Jill. “You just dumped her! She doesn’t like when she’s being ignored!” The two men continuously gave jests to each other as they try to catch up. They haven’t have quality time together as Chris got on a consecutive missions. “Alright! I heard you! Stop it.” They approached Jill who was sitting on the bench with the files scattered around. Chris simply approached her while keenly observing the contents of the files. “Hey… what are you looking at?” Barry interrupts what Chris was doing as he thinks something else. “Hmmmmm!?” A curious Jill took notice. “What?” “What what?” Both of them got confused but they’re not really out of place. On a second look, Chris noticed what Barry has been implying but he’s still pretty much passive about it. “You’re looking at?” Barry asked Chris once again and its accompanied by a pretty disturbing smirk. It did made Jill uncomfortable and in addition to Barry’s continuous eye gesture pointing that Chris was looking directly to the sweaty chest of her though Chris was not really paying attention to it much, she got it. Chris remained indifferent. “Oh shut it you, too! Take a look here instead!” The files were handed to both Chris and Barry. It’s a mission.

“I told you… so who dumped her?” Barry comments. He’s not reading the files though. But Chris did. “Its not a target Barry. A recon, Jill?” Chris was curious but he continues to read the file. “Its in Moriyama… What do you think? Its just a recon about this huge mansion located in the heart of the forest.“ Jill explained and gave out her though as she appears to be asking the two men to accompany here with the mission. Its ranked as B although its simply a recon mission. There’s something into it but Chris found it less interesting. “Too far. I’m not fond of far places this time around…” Chris honestly told Jill about it. Barry yawns. “Well yeah… I got something else to do in Hosenka the day after tomorrow. I'm just checking out.” Both Jill and Barry gave a look to Chris. “Might as well give it to Albert’s faction. They would love to not sit around, Jill.“ Barry said. “I’m sure he’ll give you a thanks for it…” Chris got a bit curious about Barry’s sarcastic suggestion but he somehow was able to read between the lines. He meant it as he pat Jill’s shoulders.

“Alright… no recon. I am in no muse. Next time, Jill.” “Next time. But not with you Chris! How about a match there?” Barry points out the ring. Chris was all in about a real sparring match. Chris gave a huge grin afterwards .

Chris accepted Barry’s invitation to a friendly bout and for the first minutes of their exchange of blows, guess who has the upper hand. Compared to Chris, Barry is much larger, half foot taller and has a heavier total mass. He’s simply a large man but Chris is not far from behind. He’s doing pretty well against Barry like he always been. Chris may not be really into boxing but that’s what they were doing this time. He’s just using the basic of the disciplines and it hasn’t failed him so far. He continuously block each of Barry’s punches from different directions and is still able to connect hits on the same time. It speaks much of Chris combat experience even with his young age but this is nothing serious. Its just a friendly match. “Damn. Chris! Serious much?!” Chris continuously attacks Barry without leaving him an opening. Sure it does not really hurt Barry but Chris is starting to feel that he’s pummeling his friend. Well, he’s wrong.

“Hah! An opening! Getting tired?” Barry’s such a tank. Chris did not realize that Barry was just playing and the moment he hesitated to follow up one of his punch, he got surprised with Barry’s reaction. He saw Barry’s stance immediately changed and threw a powerful straight while both of his hand is not on guard. But Chris reacted to it quite fast, too. “Hhnnn?!” Chris deflects Barry’s punch with his left hand and threw a counterattack on the same time. Chris reacted to it with a little bit out of control. It hit Barry on his side and send him down. “Arghhh!” “Ah! Bar…” Chris stopped on moving as he saw what happened to Barry but it seems he was not hurt.

“Hey! That was real! That was a real punch! It hurts, man!“ Barry was not really about that punch and the two of them even laughed about it. Just an accident. “Don’t worry. You’re a big man. You can handle more!” The two resumed their exchange of blows but this time around, Chris was left unguarded. It was unintentional but on a whim, as he remember what he saw from the files that Jill showed them earlier, it suddenly hit him. So as with one of Barry’s punch. It was a combination, actually. “Alright! Three – One! Three hits from me. One from you!” Chris was hit by Barry three times. He was sent away to the corner. “Damn. What was that?” Barry was not the only one who was confused as to what happened but so as Chris. He’s still not raising up from being knocked to the corner as he was thinking about of what he saw. Something that has something to do with Chris. Something that has something to do with them. Men from Chris’ past that he thought he has already left behind only to resurface back. “Barry, where’s Jill?” Chris just shrugged the punches and looks around to see if Jill was still there. Curious. She already left. “What the hell’s wrong with you? You got hit… One. Two. Three. Now, where’s Jill? I don’t know…” Barry appeared to be baffled but there’s nothing wrong.

Later the day, it still hasn’t come off from Chris mind what he saw. A symbol. A small clue. He barely looked at it and noticed it from one of the pictures given along with the files that Jill showed. From one of it, he saw a familiar symbol which belongs to those who have once stirred his life and until recently, he has found them. He could be wrong but he decided to check it. “Catch you later, Barry!” Chris stood and starts to loosen up the gloves he’s wearing and from the ring, he jumped. As he walk out of the room, he threw the gloves to the basket while giving a wave towards his sparring mate. Things started to get interesting for Chris and there was tingling sensation inside his head that if he’s right, its about time to confront those men once more. This would be the second on this next part of his life. The first was in Mt. Three Head.

On the lobby of the guild, Chris was looking for Jill. The place is pretty big and given the structure of how their guild master gun the place, a very mafia like, he may be well aware of whom he share the place with but know little to nothing at most aside from the closest to him. That speaks about Chris relationship to other Sable Panteras as well. Aside from the well known, Kaiba and Spitfire, he barely know the two that much save from the former whom he run to at one point in Mt. Three Head. And there are many more.

Chris continues to look for Jill and on one of the hallways, he bumped to the group of Albert. One of the team inside the guild. “Ey? Watch out! Oh its Chris!” Chris bumps into a group of not so distant guildmates. He was not really in a hurry but given that they were in cluster almost consuming the whole hallway, it was inevitable to bump shoulders. “Done working out?”, Albert reached his hand towards Chris arms. As usual, his voice is so fluid as if he knows almost everything. If there's nearly a perfect person to be on the top, he'd be it. He’s the leader of the group and they know each other for quite some time, too. “Hnnn yeah… Have you seen Jill, Albert? You Rich? Have you guys seen Jill?” Chris nonchalantly greets the group while asking them if they have seen Jill on the same time. Chris was asked to join their group once by non other than Albert, himself, but declined. It explains their somewhat close but not that close relationship to each other. “Oh. Your girlfriend’s there…“ Chris looked to the direction where they pointed out and from there, she saw Jill. It appears that they had just finished to have a conversation and that now he’s holding them to wherever they’ll be going. “Some other time, Chris.” "We’ll be on our way now…” “Damn this looks awesome.” “Alright Chris…” Chris just give a nod towards the men. A thanks. He was not bothered with the eerie atmosphere he’s feeling whenever they meet especially when his and Albert’s eyes meets not got interested to the thing they’d be doing. Chris runs after Jill.

“Jill! Jill!” Chris was calling out her name as he walk pass through the other guild mates around but he’s not shouting. “Oh. What is it?” Chris caught up and immediately told her what he was going to ask. ”Nah. I passed it.”, she told Chris. It was nothing serious, really but Chris is still interested. “Was it to Albert?” Chris curious asked her but it appears that its most likely the case. But its not to get work up really. “Who else? Is there something wrong?” Jill was confused with Chris’ actions but it turns out that he had just got to her on a proper time. "But since you're here... come with me. I need an extra hand..."
