Physical Characteristics: Riku loves wearing sleeveless shirts that is all black and fits very tightly. He can also be caught wearing a long sleeves white shirt that fit him well but is baggy around the arm area. When on missions, he always wears his Mission Jacket all white and has his family's symbol on the back of it. The symbol is surrounds by small sound signs and on his shoulders there are two yang and yen symbol on both sides. He wears an armband on his right arm. He never moves it because it covers a diamond shape scare on his right arm. He likes to wear his all black pants that hugs his ankles. He usually wears these long black pants in the time of winter or when it’s raining outside. He own two types of boots, his all black mission boats and his black and brown training boots. He wears an all-black rag around his waist. When in the land of the living he normally where’s whatever is in style depending on what his mission is and what he has to do.

Riku has long, spiky hair with brown and black streaks. His hair hangs carelessly loose about four inches down his back. He normally keeps a green band tied around his hair to make it a spiked pony-tail, but this is only on days when he is busy in the soul society. When he is in the human world he allows his hair to hangs straight down. And no matter how much he tries to keep his hair tied up in battle, there is always some strange turns of events that says otherwise, and leaves it hanging loose again. He keeps a band in his hair no matter what the situation is. The bane is made of three short spikes that hangs down in front of his Riku about three inches short of his chin. The bane are locked in place Riku by a fancy comb that is the same shape of his hair. The fancy comb it also green and the exact shade of colour as his band.

Riku has typically small eyes for a man his age. He eyes colour is haze with a greenish undertone that make them look orange in bright lights. His left eye normal stays hidden away underneath his bane. Directly under his left eye is a small diamond shape birthmark, it too is covered by his bane. Someday days Riku finds it necessary to wear glass, although he doesn't need them, he claims they help him to think. Even though he hasn't been able to prove this yet, lots of people says he looks good with them on. When he is anger, he tends to squint his eyes, but when he is happy his eyes become fully opened. Due to his bad sleeping habits he does have light bags under his eyes, but because he normally walks around and talks with his eyes closed; you would never know this unless you were staring at him and looking for a flaw on his Riku...

Attire/Clothing: As for normal attire, the most common thing that Riku could be seen wearing is a dark blue robe, and white pants that hang loosely on his body. He loves to wear his black shoes that fits his feet in a snuggled like manner. His pants are normally lose fitting but tight around his ankles as he has a thing about getting the bottom of his pants dusty. So once on his tends to use a cloth that matches the color of his shoes and wrap it around his ankle. As he has gotten quite good at this over the years, his able to do this in a matter that make it looks as if his pants were made that way.

His shirt tends to hug his torso in a matter that you would think the shirt was painted on. He has long ago grew fund of his appearance and like to show off his body, in away that still look slightly respectable. His shirts normally matches the color of his pants but some times he like to be off set and wear cloths that highlight each other. It is more of how he his feeling for the day. At times he may wear cloth belt made from the same fabric that is used to tie up his pants legs, but that too depends on his mood.

When training he tends to wear loose fitting clothes, as he feel his appearance doesn't matter in these moments and he wants to be as comfortable as possible. With this being said he tends to love wear the color black as it is an easier color to wash and keep clean after a long day of working out. Once he begins his workouts he tends to wear a black tie around his hair to keep it out of his eyes. He owns a pair of black boots that he has broken in for his training.

Riku also owns a few pieces of jewellery that he normally wears on days that he is not training. They are more like family heirlooms that was passed down from his father and mother before he lost them. On his right middle finger he wears a Onyx colored Diamond that is said to hold the properties for helping a user with shadow based magic. On his left middle finger he wears a Rain colored Diamond that is said to hold properties for using black magic. Around his neck he wears a pendent that his father had gave his sister when she was very young of a star. The necklace normally tucked in his shirt and hardly ever taken off. In his pocket keeps an old whine up watch that his mother gave to his younger brother when they were boys. Although the watch never works he keeps it close to him as he the watch holds a picture of his family on the inside.

Abnormalities: A moon shaped birth mark that is under his right eye. A Tattoo of his from the guild that is located on the spine of his back. A Dragon tattoo that is on the back of both his arms, with the Chinese characters that ready peace and harmony. A cross his chest is a burn mark that he received when he was very young and quite hasn't take the natural colour of his normal skin tone. But the markings from the burn mark is rather small located in the center of his chest in the shape of a brown spider.


Personality: Riku has a too himself personality. He likes to keep his distances from other because he doesn’t like the idea of being attached to other people. He’s very quiet but he’s not shy. Riku is actually a very cocky because, he’s never lost a fight to anyone on his level or anyone considered being below his level. He never speaks unless he feels it will benefit him in some kind of way. He hates work but loves to go on missions; you can almost say he likes to keep himself busy. He despises every one including his family, but he never lets anyone know how he truly feels. Because he fears people will stop trusting him and he’ll be stopped from going on missions.

Riku is a trust worthy person but you can always tell that he is not always there in his mind or that he has his own hidden agenda when on missions. He carries a cool head in all situations, which can be relaxing but hard to understand. He’s a difficult person to understand but his strategy techniques on the battle field is some of the best, that’s why his family nicked name him mastermind. Now don't take him the wrong way because if he ever feel threaten he will cut you down without a seconds thought of it. Riku had an overall loyalty to his guild, and he would choose death in a heartbeat if it meant the leader would live longer than him. Riku also has strong desires to protect what is left of his family.

While he may not be good with making friends, once he does they’re considered family in his eyes. Riku has his own personal saying that he lives by and believes to be true throughout his whole life. “The man that lives by the sword will die by the sword and be buried on the battle field with honor. The man that lives by the pen and unwilling to bear witness to the sword’s power, will never be honorable enough to be buried by the sword. But the man that Lives by the pen and will defend what he believes in with a sword will be buried in the hall of kings and heroes.”

Riku likes to drink when he doesn't have to attend to business, but he doesn't mind social drinking when it call for it. He loves to be surrounded by women because he is a huge flirt, but likes to find once special woman to spend a night with. When the opportunity present itself you can find Riku star gazing at night, but he mainly only looks at the stars on a warm summer’s night. Riku love napping throughout the day when he is not busy, but he has to sleep under the sweet smell of a cherry blossom tree, or next to white rose bushes. Riku dislike being in overly crowded places where he can't move freely or hear himself thinks.

He has an extreme dislike of shady people who talks about others behind their backs, even worst people who would lie for unimportant reasons. He has an over obsessive O.C.D cleaning disorder although he may never tell you to your face he hate all messy people. He has the will power to fight through most tough situations and a never die attitude. Riku’s only weakness in his mind is, he is secretly afraid to be along. Although he never really admitted to anyone not even himself he occasionally has nightmares about allowing everyone he cares about to die in battle because he is not strong enough.

Hobbies:

Star Gazing: On warm summer nights, Riku loves to sit and look at the stars like he use to with his father before his father abandoned him and his mother.

Napping: Riku developed this need to nap when he was younger, he claims it helps him think better when his had a stressful day.

Missions: Riku has never been the type to like desk work, but his hatred of being bored as complied him to live an adventure's life with mission.

Likes:

Women: Riku has always had a thing for pretty woman since he was young and his mother died, he especially like women with black hair and icy blue eyes.

Smoking: It is something he picked up when he was younger and hasn't been able to quite. He feel a smoke after work or dinner keeps the mind at ease.

Drinking: Although he use to only drink when he was down, he soon gained a high tolerance to the effects and does it on occasions just because.

Fighting: Riku loves a good challenged, and he's found the best challenges comes when one is fighting for pride or his life.

Dislikes:

Crowds: Riku has never been fund of being and tight places, especially when he can't hear himself think. Just the though of being surrounded by hundreds of people drives him up the wall.

Dishonesty: He has never found a good reason to lie or some he doesn't respect those who do it. The on that really set him off are the lies that are told on people out of jealousy.

Disorder: Riku Believes that disorder and messes is the gate way into to never having goals in one life. If you allow your place to be filled with chaos that you too are a chaotic person.

Family: Although Riku would never admit this, he blames his family for leaving him alone to live in the cruel world all by himself, with the burden of remember the joys and sorrows that he shared with them.

Inspiration:

Riku reason for wanting to become a mage was purely the though of power and how he would be stronger if he was one. His fear of being weak compiles him to push the limits in magic and physical activities. As he doesn't ever want to fell as weak as he was when he was a child.

Fears:

Loneliness: Riku is deeply afraid of being alone. He doesn't want to leave this world and not be remembered by someone. The thought of living and dying with no one to mourn his death wakes him in the middle of night in a deep could sweat.

Weakness and Fire : Every since the day of that tragedy were he lost everyone he ever cared about to a blaze of fire. He has been truly afraid of not being strong enough to protect those he care about. In fact the reason he pushes everyone away is because he doesn't want to let anyone get close enough to him where he feels the need to protect them. The thoughts of feeling to protect them hunts him like it did when he was a child and that fire broke out and claimed the life of his mother, brother, and sister. He remembers the terrified look in his eyes when he caught a glance of himself in the mirror as he desperately tired to remove the rubble from his family bodies before the rest of the house caved in on him. He remembers being too weak to save anybody and not even himself.

History: It was one of the items that was left as remains from the fire that claimed Riku's families life. He not sure weather or not it belong to his father or mother. Or even the history of it. As far as he is aware, it could have belong to the family that owned the house before his family did.

History: It was one of his training tool that he use to use with his father. It father had gave it too him a long time ago when he was maybe five or six. And every since than he has practised with the staff at least twice a day, up until the age of 13.

History: It was a gift from his father. On the day that he abandoned Riku and the rest of his family. Riku was maybe eight at the time and didn't understand what his father meant by he must leave, but he did understand that the ring was very important to his father and was said to have be enchanted by his founder grandmother to help with dark based magic. So it was very important for Riku not loose it as it would help him to grow up to be a strong man.

Appearance:

History: On the day that his mother died, before she passed away she handed Riku her families heirloom. As a child he had heard that the ring had been in the family since the beginning of war. It was also believed that the ring was enchanted by a wizard that was the grand master of shadow based magic.


For as long as Pelistine City has been as great has as it is; so has the Kumori family. The Kumori family is one of the wealthiest and well known magic families to ever set foot in Pelistine City. When Pelistine City was founded, which was many years ago, it was founded by a few good men who had a dream of a safe town. Segote Kumori was the small town's doctor, he was very famous for his practises which had healed many of the people that had lived there. One the town struck gold, it became very popular and invited many people to live there and enjoy it wealth. Segote popularity grew as the population grew, and his magical practise in the healing hearts became quite well know. He would soon be married and to a young woman who too had a magical family back ground and a well know practise of scientific promise. The two would have many kids, but each differed in a different skill of magic.

For now we will focus on Shaong Kumori. Shaong was the middle child in a family of five kids. His magical based practise was in dark magic, also know as shadow magic. Shaong would grow to be 25 before meeting the love of his life Kalange. She too would have a magical back ground with a deeper practise in the shadow arts of magic. On the day of their marriage, they would place to magically rings on each other hand that the two had enchanted them selves. The two rings would be known as Shao and Lang, as a testament to their true love and how they would always be together no matter what. The two would grow old together after having a set of twins. Before they would pass on they would give their rings to their twin set of boys. One would be named Ryu and Sky. Sky would would be born with an adventure's need to travel as Ryu would love his life as it was and remain in Pelistine City. The two would go their separate ways at the age of 26. Both would have many kids and grandchildren, and pass their rings on through the family as they saw feet.


As the you know the rings would have deep ties to the bloodline of Kumori family, But what you wouldn't know is that the ring that had been given to Sky would end up out of the family, due to war. It would be when Kagome Kato was set to marry the love of her life Tyu Kumori. She too would have ties to a magical background. The town outside of Blackwoods would have the ring returned to her as his remains. Kagome would hold on to the ring for many years until finally passing on at the age of 35 from an illness. Her your younger brother would take it as a kept sake of his belayed sister as their were many times he saw her starring at the ring. Her brother would soon turn 30 and pass the ring on to his only son, Kage Kato a dark magic user.

Kage would soon leave his small town in search of adventure. He would soon make his way to Pelistine City. He would soon meet a girl by the so Sango. Sango was the promising daughter of Jack Kumori. Jack Kumori was the head of the Kumori household and felt that Kage was take very good care of his only daughter. Jack and Sango would soon be married at a very young age. Kage would often be found spending many of his day starring at his ring as he would often feel a sense of mystery when he looked into it. One day he would find himself looking through the some off family books and stumbling across a book that held the picture of his ring. He would some question the head of the family about the meaning of this. Kage would tell the story of the beginning and as Jack how he came upon the ring. He would explained how it once belonged too his aunt's love and how her love had died in the war. Kage would ask Jack to hold on to the ring and protect it because it meant alot to the family. He would show Jack the ring that he still had to this day.

Upon Kage's death bed he would pass the ring on to his daughter. His daughter would take the ring, and the seat of the mistress of the head of the family. Jack would take on the responsibly of the family and his wife making sure everyone was very happy for the years to come. It wouldn't be young before his first son was born, and this my friends is where Riku Kumori Kato came to existence. Although Jack had wanted the name of the Kumori to live on, he also knew that it was very important to himself to give his son his original last name. Riku would grow to be five years old before having any siblings. His brother and sister were born in the middle of the night, and what a blessed night it was to have twins born into the family.


As the years went by, and the seasons changed so did Jack. The once proud head of the house hold was growing tired of the place that he called home. The demands that the family made often were outrageous and Jack would simply bite his tongue and try to make everyone happy. It would be one cold frost bitten night when things would finally meet there breaking point. It was when an argument with Sango, that was over nothing became physical. It was the first and last time that Jack would ever raise his hand to her, because on that same cold night the family would lose him. Riku would remember it as clear as day seeing his father walk into the room and with tear filled eyes and place a ring around his neck. It was the same ring that Kage had told Jack about, and Jack had told Riku about. The ring would slightly shimmer in the light of the moon as Riku would look to his father would say. "My dear boy, I have done a terrible thing and heart your mother..." As the tears would fall from Jack's eyes so would they fall from Riku's.

Riku would not be able to manage a word as he was lost in the moment. Kage would shortly continue after patting Riku on the head. "I have to go away... and I'm not sure when will I be back." Jack would softly wrap his arms around Riku and kiss the top of his forehead. He would than tell Riku to lay back down and get some sleep. To Riku this would all feel like the beginning to a nightmare, if only life was so simple and you could awake from the reality of a bad situation. The next morning he would awake to his normal routine of chores and practise. He would never look in the mirror, he would just keep going on as if everything was normal. He would pretend that everything was a dream. So he would continue to avoid his reflection and touching his chest and neck, because the feeling of the ring was there.

Riku kept telling himself that if he didn't look to see if the ring was there than he would have nothing to worry about, because his father would come walking in, with the ring around his finger and everything would pretend to be normal. He would continue to lie to himself for three day. And for three days he would avoid the mirror and touching his chest. He would do as much as possible not look at his brother and sister, because they may ask about the thing that was around his neck. But the more he avoided the situation the more he had to lie to himself. He continued to tell himself that his father wasn't at the dinner table because his father had to work late. He told himself his father wasn't working out with him in the morning because his father was too busy right now. He told himself that is mother wasn't crying in the middle of the night. The lies just got to be too much for him one night and he woke up in the middle of the night screaming and yelling. He would look to his door and see his tear filled eyes of his mother as he would manage to say. "Mom why did he leave us... why does he want us anymore...." And the two would have a deep embrace and share in a deep cry.


Ok I got lazy so I'm going to wrap this up and a few sweet sentences..

Some time after his father left almost about a month time passed. During one of Riku's late night training, he would return to the house see it a blazed. Riku would try with all of his might to save his family, but would fail hoplessly. After passing out from the smoke he would awake in the yard having being saved by his mother, who would use the last of energy to force a hole in the wall and force him out of the house. As a gift to her son to remember his family by she would bind the rings around his neck. Riku would go through life feeling all alone until stubling upon the guild. Although he knew they were bad people what else could he do, it was either them or the feeling of lonelniess. Riku would soon adapt to his new life style becoming one of the most loyal member the guild had to offer.

The Rings are not magical... they actually do nothing... They are a family heirlooms with a long story to go with the family history. using the word enchanted was more of a synonym for blessed. I just didn't like the way it sounded, and with out the word it sounded kinda boring and took a little meaningfulness away from the rings and their importances to the family. The rings are moreless promises for true love and how the family blood line is tighted together in the way of dark shadow magic. I removed the magic part from the rings type and changed the name.
